Winnell Wilson

Winnell Wilson, age 83, of Marietta, GA passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, March 29th at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Kevin Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm prior to the ceremony at the funeral home.

Born in Gainesville, GA, Mrs. Wilson lived most of her life in Cobb County. Her career started as a photographer for JCPenny and Fox Photography in Marietta. She was always a very crafty person and enjoyed sewing quilts and pageant dresses for girls. The job that Mrs. Wilson enjoyed the most was working for 25 years as a Crossing Guard for the Cobb County Police Department at Osborne High School, Smitha Middle School, and Birney Elementary School. She was also a dedicated and long-time member of Eastwood Baptist Church for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her son, Phillip Scott Wilson, in 2019.

Survivors include: Husband of 65 years, Phillip Wilson; Daughter, Amy Wilson Allen, Marietta, GA; 2 Sisters, Glenda (Robert) Hamby, St. Simons Island, GA, and Bonnie (Don) Mancuso, Lancaster, PA; 3 Grandchildren, Chloe Allen, Jake (Stephanie) Wilson, and Zack (Corie) Wilson; 4 Great Grandchildren, Olivia Wilson, Micah Wilson, Cope Wilson, and Addy Wilson; Daughter-in-Law, Shelley Starr Wilson.
