William Wayne “Bill” Smelcer, age 71, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. The family will receive friends from 12pm until 2pm prior to the ceremony at the funeral home.
Born in Atlanta, Mr. Smelcer moved to Powder Springs 45 years ago from Smyrna, GA. He retired from Hardin Construction Company after 42 years of employment as the General Superintendent. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Macland Road Church of Christ. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, playing golf, and gardening among other things.
