William Stanley Sanders

On the evening of Friday, June 24th, 2022, William Stanley Sanders of Hiram, Georgia passed away at the age of 102.

Stanley was born May 12, 1920, to Oneal and Anner Sanders. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Ruby Irene Sanders and daughter, Betty Pruitt. He is survived by his son, Roger Dale Sanders of Hiram, Georgia and daughter, Mary Jo Reynolds of Dallas, Georgia. And several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Upon joining the Navy, he served in WWII. After being discharged from the Navy, he provided for his family as a boat mechanic and many years in manufacturing and warehousing.

Stanley enjoyed working with wood and built all types of furniture, from children's playsets to porch swings. He also liked to work on small engines, such as lawnmowers. He enjoyed gardening and growing all types of vegetables.

Stanley was a soft spoken, gentle soul who sought out the good in everyone he met. Always with a kind word in the face of any adversity. Most of all, Stanley had a deep love and caring heart for his beloved family. Always concerned for their wellbeing and always ready with a story only he could tell.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. The family will receive visitors from 11:30am to 1:30pm with services immediately following.
