A beautiful life is a life well lived. William Thomas Layman, born on February 5th 1940 in Granite City Illinois, lived a beautiful life. He resigned this life in clam and humble hope of Heaven on September 7th 2018. Tommy had a love for golf, family scrabble nights, and enjoyed making special sauces for ribs and brisket. Everyone would ask Tommy for his special ribs and he would oblige with the biggest smile. Tommy set goals for himself and didn't stop until he reached them. He had a desire for higher education and continued to learn everything he could even in his later years. Tommy also took care to aide others in their own personal goals and showed much care and concern for all. Anyone who knew Tommy could easily see he had a beautiful soul. He loved deeply and was an amazing husband, step-father, and brother. Tommy leaves behind a wife Martha Mae Layman, his two step-sons, Paul and Scott, a sister Nancy Gillespie, her husband Bill, their son Tom, and a step-sister Gayle Schneider. Tommy who was a loving, caring, and highly respectable man will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
