William Ray Holmes, age 65, of Powder Springs passed away July 17, 2014. Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton.
Mr. Holmes was a native of Toccoa, GA and lived in the Cobb County area most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a commercial bus driver. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a graduate of Jonesboro High School.
He is preceded in death by his father, Quinn Ray Holmes and is survived by his mother, Retha Ruth Holmes; children: Pamela Denise Holmes Jones of Douglasville, Kelli Allyson Holmes Curtis of Blairsville and Matthew Ray Holmes of Laurens, SC; 3 sisters, Barbara Baggett of Powder Springs, Molly Holmes of Villa Rica, Susan Denton of Locust Grove, and brother, Wayne Holmes of Powder Springs; 3 grandchildren: Jessica Jones, Marissa Jones, Monica Jones all of Douglasville and 3 great-grandchildren: Peighton Jones, Jericho Jones and Alyssa Stone.
