William Eugene Gibboney, Sr.

William Eugene Gibboney, Sr., age 73, of Dallas, Georgia passed away September 20, 2023. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 6, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Inurnment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Smyrna, Georgia. Bill was preceded in death by his Dad and Mom, William and Alice Gibboney.

William (Bill) was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, lived in Ohio then moved to California. Finally settling and raising his family in Cobb County Georgia, he retired from Atlanta Gas Light Company. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving 3 tours during Vietnam. He loved all sports and was an avid bowler. For the last 18 years, Bill lead and organized teams for the National Bowling Association Tournaments. Bill also served as Secretary for several Senior Leagues and the Thursday Night Gutter Dusters at Bowlero Austell.

Survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Gibboney. Son William (Billy) Gibboney (Abbey); daughter Brooke Cotton (Willie), grandchildren Addison Gibboney, Avery Gibboney, and Asher Gibboney. Sister Ada Manning (Tim), brother Les Gibboney (Susan), brother Don Gibboney (Diane), sister Doris Gibboney, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.

The family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm at Bowlero Austell.
