In Loving Memory of William "Bill" Weinberger

William "Bill" Weinberger, age 78, of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Bill moved to Georgia after serving in the United States Air Force. He had a fulfilling career as a butcher at Winn Dixie and later transitioned to become a bus driver for the Cobb County School System until his retirement in 2017.

Bill was an integral part of the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, where he actively participated as a percussionist in the church orchestra. His passion for music extended beyond the church, and he enjoyed playing percussion for the Dixie Saints. Bill also had a love for crochet and was a dedicated member of the Twiddlers group. His commitment to community service was evident through his leadership in the Boy Scouts of America, Cobb County district.

A devoted family man, Bill found immense joy in supporting his grandchildren and former students in their sporting activities. Whether at a ballpark or gym, he could always be found cheering on his loved ones.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his first wife, Cecilla Annette Weinberger. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Weinberger, and his children: Jason Weinberger, Amy (Matthew) Benton, Dawn (Timothy) McKeever, and Jelena Patrick (Russel Placzek). Bill leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance for his 5 grandchildren: Marley and William Benton, Joseph McKeever, Austin (Lindsey) Patrick, and Lucas (Cheyanne) Patrick, as well as his great-grandchild, Kai Patrick. In addition to his immediate family, Bill played a significant role in the lives of his nieces and nephew: Deanna (Danny) Marr, Julie Parker, Curtis (Joela) Parker, and Wendy Parker.
