Virginia (Ginger) Hobbs Luttrell

Virginia (Ginger) Hobbs Luttrell, age 76, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Keith Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia.

Born at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Atlanta GA on June 24, 1946 to John E. Hobbs, III and Ara Power. Mrs. Luttrell graduated from Sylvan Hills High School. She took evening courses at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and Terry College of Business, University of Georgia. She was a member of Floyd Road Baptist Church and sang in the choir.

After moving to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1965, she met and married the love of her life, Michael E. Luttrell. In 1972, they moved to Atlanta where they made their home with their two-year-old son, Michael.

Ginger worked for Bank South Corp. helping to launch their first ATM machine and their infrastructure for interstate transactions. In her spare time, she enjoyed being a master seamstress. She also has had a lifelong interest in genealogy, which she shares with her son.

Ginger and Mike became grandparents later in life and were both over the moon to have a granddaughter. Ginger especially remembers their wonderful Tea Party -- all dressed up including beautiful hats. During Ginger's recent health issues, she had two goals (1) to beat Cancer; and (2) be reunited with her granddaughter, Jimi. While going through treatments, she was an inspiration to both the patients and doctors. Her dear friend, Nurse Anna, remarked that "She entertained them with her outfits, including hats, and taught them "retail therapy." Through it all, she inspired with her unwavering faith in God and his plan for her life.

If you knew Ginger, you know that she adored Elvis Presley so ..... There is only one thing left to say: Ginger has left the building. TCB

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael E Luttrell, Sr. of 51 years and is survived by her son, Michael E. Luttrell, Jr,. her granddaughter, Jean-Michelle "Jimi" Luttrell, Brother: John E. Hobbs, IV and sister-in-law, Sandra, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
