V. Mikal Jackson, age 67 of Marietta, GA passed Tuesday, August 8, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 14th from 5pm-7pm, with a ceremony at 7pm, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Born June 3, 1950 on 13th Street in Homestead, FL, he went to Dana College in Nebraska, and studied at Garrett-Theological Seminary in Evanston, Il before becoming a minister of Bethany Lutheran Church in Chicago. His calling as a minister and his degree in Psychology led him to his life’s passion of helping people. His infectious smile, passion for life, and desire to help others led him to the human resource field, and as an executive for both Marriott and Intercontinental Hotels, he fulfilled a passion to travel the world. Moving to Marietta in 1999, Mikal worked as an HR executive for Miller Zell Design Services and RCLCO. When he retired in 2008, he founded Jackson Career and Life Coaching, a people related business that with his HR background helped many people struggling with employment issues. Mikal is survived by his wife, Fran, and his 9 four-legged children that he loved dearly.
