Travis Richard Waddell, born on June 7, 1950, in Copperhill, TN, passed away peacefully at his residence in Powder Springs, GA, on October 7, 2024. He was a cherished figure whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Travis was a self-employed mechanic, dedicating his skills and passion to his work throughout his life. His expertise and commitment to his craft earned him the respect of his clients and colleagues alike. Beyond his profession, he was known for his enthusiasm for Nascar racing, often spending time engrossed in the thrilling world of motorsports. He enjoyed memorable vacations with his family at the beach, where laughter and joy were constants, highlighting his love for adventure and togetherness.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His lifelong companion, Gail Campbell, stood by his side through thick and thin. He is survived by his sons, Richard Waddell and Jody (Hope) Waddell, as well as Tony (Karen) Campbell. The pride of his life, his grandchildren—Bailey Waddell, Mackenzi (Preston) Bourquine, Tori Key, Kelsey (Kagan) Kovar, and Lexi Berg—will remember him for the warmth and wisdom he imparted. Additionally, his brother, Neal Waddell, remains in the hearts of those who loved Travis.
Travis was predeceased by his father, James Waddell, his mother, Mary McFarland Waddell, and his brother, Lenny Waddell. They will be welcomed in reunion in the annals of family lore, which Travis treasured deeply.
The visitation for Travis will be held on October 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, Georgia. This will be followed by a memorial service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM in the same location.
