Travis Gerald Barrett of Marietta, GA passed away on September 24, 2015 surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2015 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service at the funeral home.
Travis was born on June 18, 1940 in Brevard, North Carolina and was raised in Walhalla, South Carolina. Travis was a dedicated employee spending 50 years in printing working for W.R. Bean & Sons, Colorgraphics, and he retired from Standard Press, where he was the happiest. However, no matter how much he worked, his family came first. He never missed one of his sons’ sporting events or school programs. When not working, Travis enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating in his airboat and pontoon boat with his family and friends. Travis is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vaughn “Bonnie” Barrett; three sons, Christopher Todd Barrett of Fairmount, GA; Travis Cory Barrett (Judy May) of Acworth, GA; Jason Carl Barrett (Hope) of Fairmount, GA; grandson, Porter Carl Barrett of Fairmount, GA; sister, Bernice Daniels (Bill) of Summerville, SC; friends and neighbors, Richard and Rose Marie Mitchell; a special little boy, A.J., and nieces and nephews. Travis is preceded by his mother Mary Shields (Rob) and father Carl Barrett; grandson, Christopher Chase Barrett; brother, and sister.
