Thomas James Pomella, age 83, of Mableton, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Keith Collins and Rev. Gary Townsend officiating. A private family interment will follow at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 4th at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Pomella moved to Cobb County from Atlanta over 50 years ago. He worked as an Electronics Technician for several companies, including Honeywell and Pentax for 20 years, Coremetrics for 8 years and Jacuzzi for over 10 years. Afterwards, he worked at Saturn of Marietta. Mr. Pomella was a certified firearms instructor, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a longtime member of Floyd Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Wife of 60 years, Annell Kay Pomella; 2 Children, Timothy James (Angie) Pomella, Marietta, GA and Susan Kay (Gary) Townsend, Saltillo, MS; Sister, Gail Huff, Bonita Springs, FL; Grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Cornejo, Rebekah Townsend, Kaylee Townsend, Austin Wade, Alex and Andrew Stricker and Rylie Pomella; Great Grandchild, Q'orianca Cornejo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas Pomella's memory to Floyd Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Online guest book at
