Thomas Jack Hurt

Thomas Jackson "Jack" Hurt 87 years young, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021. Jack was surrounded by family and friends at Cobb Tranquility Hospice in Austell, GA. Jack was born June 16, 1934 in Cumming, GA (Forsyth County) and lived most of his life in Smyrna GA. He is preceded in death by five siblings and one son, Randall "Randy" Thomas Hurt of Marietta.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Roseanna "Sandy" Hurt of Smyrna GA, his Son, Victor Jack Hurt of Canton GA, Daughter Sherry Lynn Elrod of Dallas GA, Stepsons Scott Sanders Goss, Carnesville, GA and Jeremy James Goss of Smyrna, GA. He is further survived by six grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

Jack had approximately 50 years of professional Real Estate experience in all facets of Hotel/Motel, Residential Development Management, and operations. He was educated in the Georgia Public School system and was very active in Civic and Community Affairs. He was also an active participant in the American Cancer Society as well as Saint Jude's Children's Hospital. He was an alumni inductee of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Georgia State University.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at a later date announced.
