Tom Harris

Thomas Ivey "Tom" Harris II, age 88, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, April 20th in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. William Camp officiating. Burial will be at 1pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 3pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Mr. Harris moved to Marietta in 1974 from Woodbridge, VA. He attended North Carolina State, and was a veteran of the United State Air Force. He retired as a Computer Programmer after a long career with Western Electric and ATandT. Mr. Harris was also a long-time bookkeeper for West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. He was also a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.T. and Mary Harris, and a sister, Cathrine E. Klipfer.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta Jean Harris; 3 children, Thomas I. (Vicki) Harris III of Cartersville, GA, Daniel W. (Leslie) Harris of Cartersville, GA and Barbara J. Guy of Marietta; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Blake Guy and Jonathan Tristan Guy; brother-in-law, Charles Klipfer; niece, Mary (Mick) Copper; 2 nephews, Charles (Cindy) Klipfer, Jr. and Jim (Charlene) Klipfer, and a host of other extended family.
