Susan Barbara Cockerill age 61, of Hiram Ga was welcomed into heaven Saturday September 30, 2023 by loved ones and God.
Susan leaves behind her loving and devoted life partner of over 20 years, Charles “Chip” Williams, her 5 children, Joseph Geil, Emma Geil, Alexis Wroten (Zachery), Barbara Crider (Eric) and Tiffany Gassett (Stephen), and precious grandchildren; Mason, Autumn, Natalie, Annabell, Jenna, and Finnley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her baby brother James “Jamie” Cockerill, and her grandson Ashton Eastlack.
Susan was born on February 11, 1962 in Woodbury NJ. She was raised by 2 loving parents Barbara and William “Bill” Cockerill. Susan was the youngest daughter of 6 children and leaves behind her brothers William Cockerill (Ann), Stephen Cockerill (Christine), and sisters Deborah Underwood (Bill), Pamela Cockerill. She was the fun aunt and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Clearview Regional High school and went on to pursue a nursing career after graduating from Gloucester County College. She loved caring for people; she served as an LPN for many years before becoming a devoted stay at home mother and grandmother. Her biggest accomplishment, she would say, was raising her children with love and respect and creating a bond that would keep them together for a lifetime. She believed family was the most important part of life and she will be greatly missed.
She devoted her life to her children. That is what she was proudest of. Who they had become and the bond that they shared. She did an amazing job raising them; instilling family values and morals. The cardinal rules as she said.
Susan was one of a kind. Her energy lit up any room she entered. To know her was to love her. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was a dedicated republican who wanted a world with Trump as president.
Susan was taken too soon. We weren’t ready but God was. She will never be forgotten.
Service will be held on Friday October 6, 2023 at 2pm
