Stanley Howard Canup

Stanley Howard Canup, age 67, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday July 19, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta.
A lifelong resident of Cobb County, Mr. Canup retired as an electrician with Lemay Electric where he worked for 30 plus years. His family and those who knew him knew him as a kind and mild-mannered man who loved to tinker with his truck and go to the shooting range.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Betty Canup, as well as his loving wife Marie Canup.
He was always loving and kind.Until his very last day on this earth Stan spread kindness, love, and compassion wherever he went.
Survivors included: 4 children who he always loved and supported, Amanda (Jamey) Green, of Powder Springs, GA, Lawonda Campbell, Gainesville, GA, Joseph (Sharon) Thompson, Loganville, GA, and Edward (McKenna) Vann, Valrico, FL.
Brothers, Carey (Rebecca) Canup, Dallas, GA, and David (Linda) Canup, Douglasville, GA.
He was a loving and devoted grandfather to 5 grandchildren McKenzie, Madelyn, Krysten, Zack, and Cooper, and his 4 great-grandchildren River, Haydyn, Willow, and Ivy Lee.
He leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. He also leaves his mark as being a founding member and the first Eagle Scout of troop 732. We have all learned a little something from him that we will take with us as well as the memories that will cherish in our hearts forever.
