Shirley Marrow was born in Bronx, NY to Marvin and Florence Faison on January 4, 1933. She was nearly 80 years old when her battle with illness ended on October 2, 2012.
From the first time she saw Kenneth Marrow at the young age of 15, she knew that he would be her sweetheart for life. On November 10, 1956, they married and started a lifelong partnership that lasted 42 years. During that time, Shirley became the proud mother of 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and had 3 more great grandchildren on the way when she fell asleep in death.
Shirley dedicated her life to Jehovah God in the early 1970’s and was honored to be a faithful member of four congregations: Brevoort, South Lawrenceville, South Peekskill, and finally, East Powder Springs.
She was an avid book reader, and an even more notorious catalogue shopper – if they could ship it, she would buy it! She loved to start the day with a good cup of coffee and would delight in telling hilarious stories to her grandchildren. She was so humorous at times, and the funniest thing was that she wasn’t even aware of it. Shirley had no problem wielding a soft brush at her children. She was a very generous person who enjoyed shopping for other people, many of whom referred to her as “mama.” She enjoyed giving to charities, and especially to Jehovah’s organization.
Shirley Marrow is survived by her two sons, Chris Sr. & Kenneth Colin – her two daughters, Teresa & Dina – her two granddaughters, Monique & Marissa who lovingly cared for her in her final days, as well as a host of family members who love& miss her greatly. She died faithful to Jehovah and the family now looks forward to the resurrection to warmly welcome back Shirley, her husband Kenneth, and their dear daughter Nyla.
