Shirley Jones

Shirley Wright Jones, age 85, of Mableton, GA passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Floyd Road Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Collins and Rev. Thomas Grantham officiating. She will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Smyrna.

Born in Atlanta, Mrs. Jones lived in Mableton for over 60 years. She was a longtime member of Floyd Road Baptist Church. She loved singing in trios and quartets, including with the Happy Voices, and on the radio with Wendy Bagwell and the Sunliters. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jack Wright and Paul Wright.

Survivors include: Husband of 65 years, Jack L. Jones; 3 Children, Jeff (Cindy) Jones, Powder Springs, GA, Rhonda (John) Forrest, Marietta, GA, and Chris (Crystal) Jones, Fredericksburg, VA; 2 Sisters, Sandra Freeman, Marietta, GA, and Linda Meyer, Edmond, OK; 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Floyd Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Saturday, October 1st at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
