Shirley Maye Gunter, age 71, of Powder Springs passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gunter is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Henry Spivey
and Mary Irene Nichols Spivey and siblings: Bobby Spivey and Carolyn Warden.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby J. Gunter; daughters: Debra (Ronnie) Crowder of Dallas and Deana (Frank) Hanson of Dallas; siblings: Harold (Cheryl) Spivey of Marietta and Darlene Temples of Cumming; 4 grandchildren: Brandon Crowder, Brooke Dabbs, Brian Crowder, Brittany Jenkins and 8 great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Addyson, Jaden, Brennen, Brianna, Ally, Jarrett and Jordyn.
Mrs. Gunter lived most of her life in Cobb County. She was a financial officer for B.J. Gunter Company and was attending Fortified Hills Baptist Church with her family.
