Shirley Jean Canup

Shirley Jean Canup, age 85, of Mableton, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Donald Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta.

Born in White, GA, Mrs. Canup lived most of her life in Mableton, GA. She was a dedicated homemaker and caretaker of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed supporting her kids in sports and serving as their Team Mother, and had recently become consumed about learning the political process in Washington. She had been a member of Central Baptist Church in Smyrna, and was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Canup, Sr. in 2015.

Survivors include: 3 Children, Karey Groover, Mableton, GA, Billy Jack Canup Jr., Mableton, GA, and Cindy (David) O'Neill, Sandy, Utah; 6 Grandchildren, Dustin Canup, Brandy Canup, Dylan Cowart, Katie Canup, Whitley O'Neill, and Thomas O'Neill; 4 Great Grandchildren, Caroline Bastos, Marla Horth, Ray King Jr., and Lyla King; Brother, Clayton Vaughn, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 13th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, December 14th from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
