Sherri Lynn Gross

Sherri Gross, age 57, born in Cincinnati, Ohio October 15, 1960, passed on May 15, 2018.

Sherri was employed as a civilian by the United States Air Force. She finished her career as a contract negotiator at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, retiring in 2003. Sherri was raised in Heath, Ohio before moving to Fairborn, Ohio where she graduated from Fairborn Baker High School in 1979. She attended Georgetown College and Wright State University, where she earned a degree in communications.

Sherri participated in numerous Toastmasters clubs. She enjoyed sharing her experiences while also connecting to the stories of others. Her passion for Toastmasters led to her involvement in the formation of additional chapters. She earned multiple awards, including Distinguished Toastmaster. Sherri enjoyed social media and was able to make new friends while staying connected with existing friends and family. Sherri had a deep appreciation for those who served our country and regularly sent Veteran's Day cards to friends, family members, and new acquaintances who served in the military, as well as her favorite United States Presidents.

Sherri is survived by her parents, Charles and Linda Gross, brother Bob Gross (Jenne), her two nieces, Sarah Joblin (Hayden) and Kassie Gross, and her aunt and uncle Bill and Barbara Gross. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Naomi Craycraft, Zadie and Oscar Gross.

Visitation will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on May 17, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, Georgia on May 18th, 2018, officiated by Rev. Mike Woods. Additional services will be held at the Richardson Funeral Home, Owingsville, Kentucky on May 20, 2018. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 3:00 PM, with burial to follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harold Wilcox Mission Fund or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in care of the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs, 4330 North Avenue, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
