Shelvie Jean Jones

Shelvie Jean Jones, born November 17, 1937, of Hiram GA passed away January 30, 2021. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
Shelvie was a loving and devoted wife to Carlos Jones of 68 years, Mother of Randall (Randy) Jones (wife Lavina Jones), Kathy Smith (husband Tony Smith), Carl "Skeet" Jones (wife Renee Jones). Along with her 3 children, she had 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Shelvie was born in Atlanta GA, and graduated from Southwest High School in Fulton County. She married Carlos in 1954 and forged a path as a homemaker and wife. Soon after marrying Carlos they delivered their first son Randy, followed by Kathy and Skeet. During their marriage she and Carlos established a construction company building houses and developing property which is still in operation. She loved to decorate, and took classes from the Chicago School of Interior Design. She was often found outside in her flower gardens, designing landscapes or sitting "under the walk" enjoying nature.
Shelvie was predeceased by her parents Henry Lewis and Susie Bell Jenkins, 3 siblings, Margaret Parrott, Horace Jenkins, and Mary E. Gay, as well as her oldest son Randy.
Shelvie was a true matriarch for her family. She was the epitome of love, faithfulness, and class. She will be greatly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
