Sharon Moore Thrasher, 61, of Marietta, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011. Mrs. Thrasher was born in Meridian, Mississippi. She spent her early childhood there and later moved to DeKalb County where she attended Towers High School. She was formerly employed with the Office of the DeKalb County Solicitor-General as a legal secretary. Sharon was known for her warm heart, loving ways and positive outlook in times of adversity. She had beautiful blue eyes and a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She loved the color purple and collecting snowmen. She enjoyed cross-stitching, word puzzles and reading. She was affectionately known as “Oma” by her grandchildren whom she adored and loved so very much. She was a very special person and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Harwell Thrasher; son, Jason Hodges and wife Karen of Marietta; step-son, Christopher Thrasher and wife Allyson of Greenville, SC; parents, Ronald and Daphne Moore of Eatonton; brothers, Wayne Moore of Villa Rica and Scott Moore of Eatonton; grandchildren, Riley, Garrett and Amanda Hodges of Marietta and Jacob Thrasher of Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Phil Moore. A funeral will be held at 7:30 pm Friday in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
