Sharon M. Seyl (nee Meyer) passed away at home in Marietta, GA on August 1, 2023. Sharon was born in Harvey, IL on April 9, 1952. She was raised in Dolton, IL and continued to live there after college for part of her adult life.
Sharon attended and graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, IL with a degree in mathematics. After graduation, she returned to work at the family business, Milhahn Florist and Greenhouses in Dolton. Sharon met her husband Robert (Bob) Seyl in Dolton and they were married on December 24, 2001 in Grandma and Grandpa Milhahn's living room. Sharon and Bob decided to move to Marietta, GA in 2010, in order to be closer to Bob's son Ben. Sharon and Bob enjoyed life in their new home until Bob passed away in 2015.
In addition to Bob, Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Meyer, her maternal grandparents, Gustave and Marguerite Milhahn, her paternal grandparents, Edwin and Bertha Meyer, and two brothers, Jimmy Meyer and Wally Meyer.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Leora Meyer, brother, Ed (Bonnie) Meyer, sisters, Marion (Bill) Krajewski, and Terry (Danny) Dieck, stepson, Ben Seyl, grandson, Coleman Seyl, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her special dog Gemma.
Cremation has taken place and Sharon's remains will be buried with her beloved Bob at Georgia National Cemetery. West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
A celebration of Sharon's life will take place at a later date in Indiana with family and friends.
