Rutledge Alford Mulcay, age 50, of Kennesaw, passed away on December 9, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 14, 2013, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta. The family will receive friends from 12pm until the service.
Born in Augusta, GA, Mr. Mulcay had lived in Kennesaw since 1990 and was of the Methodist faith. He worked for years as a retail manager most recently for Party City but his true love in retail was in Hunting, Camping and Fishing. He loved working with kids to get their first Rod and Reel and stock their first tackle box and was delighted to hear the stories when the kids came back and told him about catching their first fish; he got so much pleasure from their excitement. Mr. Mulcay’s health had been declining for several years but he continued to be full of life and filled his home with his love of music and animals; everyone who knew him knew of his love of animals and how big his heart was when he heard of an animal in need.
Mr Mulcay is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Melanie Marshall Mulcay; mother, Ethlynda “Lynn” Baker of Marietta; father, Robert Allen Mulcay, Sr. and wife, Carla of Roswell; siblings, Robert Allen Mulcay, Jr. of Duluth, James Daniel Mulcay of Buford, Kellie Grace Belmont of Fresno California, Janet Miegel of Roswell, Claire Helms of Centre, Alabama , Eric Garza of Norcross and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Atlanta Humane Society.
