Ronald "Ron" E. Fitzkee II

December 9, 1954 — November 3, 2022

Ronald E. (Ron) Fitzkee, 67 (12/9/1954), of Acworth, Ga, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital following spinal fusion surgery. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald E. (Abe) and Janice A. Fitzkee of Red Lion, PA. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Esther Brogden Fitzkee and their beloved huskies, AJ and Rusty. Also surviving is his brother, Scott A. Fitzkee, his wife Michelle, nieces Lexi and Bryn, and nephew Brody of Forest Hill, Maryland.

Ron graduated from Red Lion High School where he was a star on their football team. In honor of his legacy of excellence in sports, football, and community service he was extremely proud of being inducted into the "Red Lion Hall of Fame" alongside his father Abe and brother Scott. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Leo Club continuing his father's legacy of community education and sportsmanship. Just recently he organized a reunion of his Red Lion championship team renewing friendships with many old team members and friends. Ron played football at the University of Virginia and Penn State University where he received his BS in Education.

Following graduation, he became a teacher after which he changed course and decided the business arena more suited his style; he was involved in manufacturing, distribution, and specialized coatings. His most rewarding endeavor was establishing North American Construction Technology (NACT), a nationwide organization of independent specialty contractors providing concrete repair, rehabilitation, and protection services.

Although his passion was football Ron enjoyed competitive croquet, riding his motorcycle (especially his trip cross-country to the Hot Air Balloon festival in New Mexico) jet skiing and "glamping". Also, he excelled at watering flowers.

In lieu of a celebration of life, Ron's wishes were for donations to the Ron Fitzkee Memorial Fund, c/o The Leo Club, 200 Horace Mann Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.

The sudden loss of Ron's life will be felt by all who knew and loved him. He was a good man. "Good night, sweet prince,/ And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest-." Wm. Shakespeare.
