Ronald James Lupo, age 74 of Powder Springs Georgia passed away on December 25th, 2019. A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Friday, January 3rd 2020 at the West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, GA with a reception to follow in the evening.
Jim was born on 13 November 1945 in Lincoln, Nebraska. After graduating from LaGrange Township High school Jim enlisted in the United States Army. After completing basic training and infantry training Jim was assigned to the 8th Infantry Division as an 11D, Armor Intelligence Specialist patrolling the Fulda Gap in Germany. After completing his enlistment, Jim attended business school in Chicago receiving an Associates Degree in business management and spent the next 46 years in the Chemical Sales and Distribution sector mentoring many and making friends for a lifetime. It was in small diner in Hinsdale, Illinois where he would meet the love of his life and future wife of 49 years, Susan.
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family above all else. An avid golfer, Jim played on some of the finest courses in America with Pebble Beach being his all time favorite. He loved his friends, a good cigar, fishing and discussing politics or the Bible over a cup coffee.
Jim died peacefully in his sleep on Christmas Day. His wife Susan Lupo survives him as does sons Daniel and Andy, grandsons, Rylan (15), Wyatt (11), Benjamin (9), Nora (10), Grant (7), Miles (7) and brothers Donald, David and John.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA. Military honors will be rendered for Jim at 2:00 by an Honor Guard from the U.S. Army.
