Ron C. Herens

Ron Cornelis Herens, age 23, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Monday, April 10, 2017. Born in Austell, Ron lived most of his life in Powder Springs, GA. He graduated from McEachern High School in 2011. He graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College with his Associate’s Degree in Fire Science Technology. He worked for the Marietta Fire Department as a Firefighter for the last four years. Ron worked part-time for Puckett Ambulance Service as an EMT. Ron was active with the Cobb County Fire Explorers and was presented with the Cares Award in March of 2015 for assisting in a successful cardiac resuscitation. He had recently earned his Personal Trainer Certification.
Ron is survived by his parents, Dirk Herens and Cobi Koene, brother Sam, sister Dana, girlfriend Rosa Campos, and grandmother Rie Herens. Ron has several aunts, uncles and cousins residing in the Netherlands. Ron loved being a Firefighter and was very invested in his career. He was very passionate about his physical fitness, spending his free time in the gym and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Ron’s loves were his girlfriend, Rosa, traveling, and making memories. Ron is most remembered for his lighthearted sense of humor, striking a funny pose, making goofy faces, and his spontaneous dance moves.
The family wish to thank the members of the Los Angeles Fire Department and the Marietta Fire Department for their heartwarming support and care for Ron and his fellow Marietta Fire Department firefighters.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 18th from 5pm until 8pm at Trinity Church, 4665 Macland Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127. A celebration of his life will be held 2pm Wednesday, April 19th at Trinity Chapel in Powder Springs. He will lie in state one hour prior to the celebration service. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
