Roger Joe Bell

Roger Joe Bell, age 66, of Marietta, passed away surrounded by family on June 6th, 2023. Mr. Bell was born at Emory Hospital in Decatur, GA to Bill and Bonnie (Pierce) Bell. After attending the University of Georgia, Mr. Bell opened his own insurance education business, Bell and Associates, which he operated in Marietta with his wife Shelley for over twenty years. More recently, he was the examinations manager with the International Society of Arboriculture. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed grafting and growing Japanese maple trees and woodworking. Roger loved making people laugh: he had a joke for any situation, even if the joke was a lame one. He was also a doting grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shelley (Collins) Bell, sons Ryan (Mattie) and Cory Bell, sisters Janet (Kent) Dalton of Marietta, Kathryn (Dale) Farmer of Dahlonega, parents Bill and Bonnie Bell of Dahlonega, and grandchildren Charlie and Willa Bell, along with numerous in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 11th at West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
