Rodrick Clark Boler, Sr. age 71, of Marietta, GA passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 4pm on Monday, December 2, 2013 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Warren Landrum officiating. A second service will be held in Alabama on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd at1pm (Central Time) at James Memorial Baptist Church in Gadsden with Rev. Bill Abbott officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 11am until 1pm. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Gadsden, Al.
A native of Northport, AL, Mr. Boler played football under Paul “Bear” Bryant at the University of Alabama from 1961 until 1963. In 1964, he worked as a Graduate Assistant with Mal Moore at the university. He became an educator and coach, and coached football and basketball at many schools, including Bloomsburg State University in Pennsylvania, and Wills, Allatoona, Smyrna, Osborne, Wheeler and Gadsden High Schools. He was a member of the University of Alabama A Club, the University of Alabama Baseball Alumni, and of Mt. Paran Church of God.

Leslie Boler Jones and husband Chad of Cumming, GA
5 Siblings: Doris Stokes, Shirley (Don) Stephens and Sharleen Hix, all of Northport, AL, Morris (Sharron) Boler of Coker, AL and Sonny (Judy) Boler of Gordo, AL
7 Grandchildren: Brendan P. Boler, Ryan Clark Boler, Amber Mae Jones, McKenna Boler, Ali P. Jones, Sean Boler and Trent Jones
And numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Craig Payne, Charles Rigsby and Mike Griffin.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
