Robertine Hill made her peaceful transition on the evening of Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.
She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 11, 1928 to the union of Robert and Mary Alma Jackson (both deceased). Robertine was the oldest of her siblings Lionel and Lemuel Jackson (both deceased).
After high school, she continued her education at Leland College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Robertine worked in the Chicago School System and retired after approximately 20 years. She found it a joy to work with the students, teachers and administrative staff.
Robertine married the love of her life Gilbert Hill in 1954, and they shared 47 years of marriage. Their union was blessed by a beautiful daughter, Robin who gave them pure joy. Robertine loved the Lord and would frequently recite
her favorite chapter in the bible, Psalm 27.
In 2009 she and her daughter Robin relocated to Atlanta, GA., where they became members of West Cobb Church.
Robertine was a very vivacious, fun loving person, who enjoyed a good laugh with her friends. She found pleasure in exploring new places and meeting new people during her road trips. Robertine would minister and share Jesus Christ with others whenever she had the opportunity.
The memory of her beautiful life is cherished by her daughter Robin, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of wonderful friends.
"One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple". Psalm 27:4
A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. The family will receive friends from 3pm until the service.
