Robert E. Walker, age 97, of Mableton, Georgia passed away Friday, October 25, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Randal Whitten officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta.
A native of Atlanta, Mr. Walker lived in Mableton for the last 53 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, having served during WWII in the battle of Normandy. He retired from Beck-Atlanta after a 50 year career in the printing industry, then drove a floral delivery truck for Ann's Florist for 23 years. He was a longtime member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include: Wife of 77 years, Esther L. Walker; Daughter, Penny (Bill) Chambers, Douglasville, GA; Son, Bob (Mary) Walker, Woodstock, GA; 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchildren, and 2 Nieces and 2 Nephews.
