Robert Leon Duckworth

Robert Leon Duckworth, age 86, of Marietta, GA passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home with Reverend Timothy Poston officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, with full military honors. Mr. Duckworth was a native of Parkersburg, West VA. He had lived in the Cobb County area for the past 51 years and was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Hiram. Mr. Duckworth was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy as a flight instructor. After retirement from the Navy, Mr. Duckworth continued as a flight instructor for the Civil Service. He is preceded in death by his son, Kirkland Duckworth. Mr. Duckworth is survived by his wife, Janet Duckworth of Marietta, GA; Son and Daughter in law, Jeffrey Glenn and Melissa Duckworth of Robinsville, N.C.; Grandchildren, Cole (Brittany) Duckworth, Elizabeth Whitworth and Kristin Gay; and Great Grandchildren, Brady and Ryder Duckworth.
