Robert Vincent Cruz, affectionately known as “Bob” was born December, 16, 1952 in Bronx, New York to Mrs. Aida Cruz and the late Louis M. Cruz. At the age of 16, on September 2, 1969 Bob started his Air Line career with Pan Am Air Lines. He was able to take leave at 18 when he joined the United States Navy, where he served his Country both active and in the Reserve for 8 years.
His one true Love and High School Sweetheart, Mary Xiomara Bechini accepted his hand in Marriage on February, 19, 1972 where they would spend 42 wonderful years together. On July 20, 1973 he welcomed his Son Brandon into the world. Life would never be the same and on that day until his death, he became the proudest father in the world.
His Air Line Career moved to a warmer climate when Pan Am merged with Delta Air Lines, Inc. and he made his home in Kennesaw, GA. Bob on September 2, 2014 would have been employed for 44 years and his True Love, Mary 40 years. He was in Atlanta for 23 years where he was loved and respected by everyone who met him.
Bob, although a very proud man was humble and easy to get along with. He was of the Catholic Faith. Everyone who knew Bob said he was kind, humble and easy to get along. They knew that he was Mary’s Life Long Love, Brandon’s Best Friend and Pawpa’s Pride and Joy was Jasmine. Five years later he would get a double portion when Madelyn was born. Robert was a marvelous son, a great big brother, wonderful father-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and co-worker.
On Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 4:31pm an hour after the final rosary had been said, Robert Vincent Cruz quietly answered the Master’s call. He also leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his devoted wife, Mary X. Cruz, Kennesaw, GA, son, Brandon (Abby) Cruz, Kennesaw, GA, mother, Aida Cruz, Melbourne, FL, two younger brothers, Nelson Cruz, Melbourne, FL and William Cruz, Bronx, NY, sister-in-law, Jane Bechini, Cary, NC, and a host of relatives, and friends. No one ever had to question Bob’s devotion and loyalty. Not only was he honest and loyal to his family; he was the same with Delta Air Lines, and everyone he met.
