Rita Smith

Rita Moore Smith, age 84, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. J. Randal Whitten and Rev. Gary Moore officiating.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Mrs. Smith moved to Cobb County in 1960. She was a graduate of West Fulton High School. She enjoyed working as a Poll Manager with Cobb County Elections and working at Mother's Finest Catering. She was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Smith also loved music, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Elliot Smith in 2003, and a brother, Gil Moore.

Survivors include: 3 Sons, Michael Smith, Powder Springs, GA, Mark (Debbi) Smith, Lake Sinclair, GA, and Randy (Debra) Smith, Dalton, GA; Sister, Reba Quinn, Powder Springs, GA; 5 Grandchildren, Kristopher Kyle (Amber) Smith, Josh Smith, Will (Sydneye) Smith, Drew (Emily) Smith and Davis Smith; 7 Great Grandchildren, Kalei Smith, Michael Smith, Gage Smith, Gracie Smith, Hadley Smith, Ellie Smith and Mary Alice Smith.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
