Richard W. “Dick” Cree, age 85, of Marietta passed away Sunday, Sept. 2.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Cree served in the Merchant Marine and the Army, participating in the Berlin Airlift and in the Korean War. After retiring from the Army, he had a 20-year career in finance and banking. Predeceased by his son Jack, Mr. Cree is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan; two nieces, Sandra Hutto (Michael) and Sharon Heard (Timothy); grandnephew Reid Heard and grandniece Emma Heard.
A service celebrating his life will be Saturday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 175 West Sandtown Rd., Marietta 30064, with the Rev. Rusty Edwards officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, Georgia 30346.
