Richard Earl Brackett

Mr. Richard Earl Brackett, 73, of Dallas, GA passed away on the morning of Wednesday, February 9, 2022. He was born on April 16, 1948 in Canton, GA to Alford and Virginia Brackett. Richard attended O'Keefe High School and was part of the graduating class of 1966. He spent the majority of his life in the Atlanta and Marietta areas prior to settling in Dallas, GA in 2019. Richard was dedicated to his career and after over 25 years serving the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation with the state of Georgia he retired in 2010. After retiring he continued to do what made him the happiest, which was spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Alford and Virginia Brackett; Grandparents, Wade H Kelley and Sally D Kelley.
Richard is survived by two Daughters, Stephanie Brackett of Oak Ridge, TN and Lindsey Barton of Winter Park, FL; Grandsons, Chase Barton of Winter Park, FL and Masen Barton of Winter Park, FL; Granddaughters, Aubrey Brackett of Winter Park, FL and Jaidyn Barton of Winter Park, FL; Sister, Deborah Garcia of Dallas, GA; Niece, Michelle Dalton of Dallas, GA; Great Niece, Kendall Dalton of Dallas, GA; extended family and an entire village of friends.

Even though he was taken home to be with the lord so soon, his loving heart has left a beacon of light for all of his family and friends and everyone's life whom he touched. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta (2480 Macland Rd. SW Marietta, GA 30064). The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the ceremony.
