Rebecca Ann Connally, age 81, of Marietta passed away Monday, October 14, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, October 17, 2013, Powder Springs First United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Vest and Rev. Sanford Willard officiating. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Connally was a native and lifelong resident of Cobb County and was also a lifelong member of Powder Springs First United Methodist Church. She was a Certified Professional Secretary at Lockheed Martin until her retirement in 1995.
Mrs. Connally is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Gregory and is survived by her husband, Al Connally of Marietta; 4 children: James Kenneth (Debbie) Connally of Powder Springs; Karen Connally Churchill of Dallas; Randall Lee (Selena) Connally of Canton; James Albert (Anita) Connally, Jr. of Dallas; 2 sisters: Martha Turner of Acworth and Mary Conley of Marietta; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer Chicantek, Jamie Shanks, Jeremy Churchill, W.J. Harper, R.J. Harper, Melissa Westmoreland, Daniel Brown, L.J. Brown, Devin Brown and Tatum Christian; 13 great-grandchildren: Madison Chicantek, Morgan Chicantek, Marleigh Chicantek, Ashlynn Shanks, Ryleigh Shanks, Lizzie Churchill, Sophia Harper, Elijah Harper, Peyton Westmoreland, Mason Westmoreland, Kennedy Brown, McKenzie Brown and Colton Brown.
Donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 until 8 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
