Raymond Wade Cook
11/21/1951 – 02/12/2015
There once was a man named Raymond Cook,
He was not the kind of man to read a book,
Short and scrappy, but not a great pappy,
The ladies often gave him a second look.
Raymond was born in Clayton County,
On his head there was sometimes a bounty,
Never met a stranger, seldom shied from danger,
A good redneck never accused of being a towny.
Ray fancied himself a ladies man,
When commitment came, off he ran,
He could cut a rug, Two-Step to Jitterbug,
He was an avid classic rock and oldies fan.
You could find him at peace by the creek,
With a pole in one hand and a beer gut physique,
Sweet-talking the fish, to get ‘em on his dish,
He was on the bank no matter the time of week.
Ray Cook! Many will miss you and some will gloat,
Glad you were quick to board heaven’s boat,
Be sure to stop by, that Honky Tonk in the sky,
Good thing sinners are welcome you ole' goat!
Friends and family will remember this one of a kind on Saturday, February 21st at 2:00pm with a reception to follow West Cobb Funeral Home 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064.
