Rae Lavonne Hallisey (nee Bennett) passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2013 following an extended illness.
Rae was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 30th, 1930. Shortly after graduating from Royal Oak High School, Rae and her best friend, Joanne, joined the Navy. Immediately upon graduating from Class A "Yeoman School" Service School Command in May of 1952, both Rae and her friend were stationed in Pensacola, Florida. As a Navy 'Wave', Rae served her country at the Pensacola Naval Air Station where she met and married her husband Roger 'Chip' Hallisey (deceased, July, 1986). Rae and Roger raised six daughters and settled in the Atlanta area in the summer of 1964. In addition to her service to her country, Rae also spent 15 years working with the EPA in the Atlanta Branch of the Freedom of Information Office.
She is survived by six daughters, Diane Hallisey Walker, Kathy Hallisey, Elaine Hallisey, Mary Hallisey Hunt, Teresa Hallisey Eldredge, Carol Hallisey Case and 12 grandchildren who all loved her dearly and will miss her every day.
