Peggy L. Chastain

Peggy L. Chastain, age 86, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Matt Maynor officiating. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.

Born in Benton, TN, Mrs. Chastain lived in Powder Springs for most of her life. She worked a Registered Nurse, retiring after a 40 year career. She was a member of the Powder Springs First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed coaching youth softball and basketball when she was younger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doc Chastain, in 1992.

Survivors include: Son, David (Dee) Chastain, Powder Springs, GA; Daughter, Melissa A. (Dan) Helton, Hiram, GA; Sister, Jean (Bill) Baxter, Jasper, TN; Grandchilden, David (Ashley) Chastain, Jr., Daniel Helton, Cody (Amanda) Chastain, Brianna (Chip) Coffey, Samantha (Luis) Mejuto and Jordan Helton; Great Grandchildren, McKinley Chastain, Major Coffey, Bodey Chastain, Broughton Chastain, Hattie Helton, Chastain Coffey, Ruby Dee Coffey, Hatch Coffey and Georgina Mejuto; Sisters in law, Jean Wiley and Louise Maher and Brother in law, Chuck Maher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy Chastain's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital @ www.stjude.org .
