Pearlene Turner

Mrs. Pearlene Turner, age 75, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 16, 2013, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor Shedrick Pullin officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.



Mother Turner, as she is known by her loving church family, was born to the late James Bowen, Sr. and late Lucille Bowen. She started raising children early in life being that she was the oldest girl of ten. Thus, she had to drop out of school and help raise her younger siblings of whom seven still survive; her one sister Agnes L. (Mark) Spencer, and her six bothers; James Bowen, Jr., Clinton L. Bowen, Thomas (Sarah) Bowen, Freeman (Cathy) Bowen, Raymond L. Bowen, and Perry L. (Patricia) Bowen.



After marrying the late Elbennit Turner, Sr., she reared five children of her own; Monroe C. (Candace)Turner, Sr., Kuturah Turner, Angela F. Turner, Elbennit Turner, Jr. and Louada Turner. Through them she witness and helped raise 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.



This lovely angel has always treated every soul kindly, enjoyed serving the Lord God, and she is survived by a host of family and friends whose lives are better off by meeting her.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12pm until the service.
