Patricia Ann Grant, 78, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. The family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 6pm-9pm.
Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Grant moved to Powder Springs 7 years ago from Plantation Florida. She retired from the Broward County Board of Education after 32 years of teaching. She taught History at Apollo Middle School from 1970 to 1984 and AP History Western High School from 1984 to 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marguerite Treen.
Survivors include her sons Mark Clarke and his wife Leette of Powder Springs, GA, Chris and Cheryl Clarke of Philadelphia, PA, Jeff and Debbie Clarke of Davie, FL and Step-Daughters Heather Grant Stossel of Plantation, FL and Holly Grant Skeen of West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Charles Treen, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Clarke and his wife Michelle of Hiram, GA; Jeremy Clarke of Philadelphia, PA, Jason Clarke and his wife Lauren of Powder Springs, Kevin Clarke of Morgantown, WV and Cody Clarke of Davie, FL; great-grandsons, Brayden Clarke and Bryson Clarke and niece, Sandra Bloom of Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or CHASA (Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association).
