Otto Donald “Donnie” Koschnick, 81, passed away on June 23, 2019 in Marietta, GA.
Donnie was born in Scranton, ND to Elsie Scheer Nestlehutt on September 16, 1937. He graduated from R.L.Osborne High School in Marietta, GA. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked as a brick and stone mason for Willard Stubblefield for more than 30 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served in the Army and was awarded The Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Donnie is preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Koschnick, and his parents, Elsie and Jimmy Nestlehutt.
Donnie is survived by his son, Jonathan Woodham and spouse, Mandy; sister, Yvonne Russell; grandchildren, Ainsley and Zoe Woodham by whom he was affectionately known as “Pop Pop”; and many beloved friends.
Donnie loved cowboy movies and Louis L’Amour books. He enjoyed fishing and lake life. He went to breakfast every day with his best friends, and to the flea market on the weekends. He had a sweet tooth and loved spoiling his granddaughters with treats. Donnie had a kind, generous heart and never met a stranger.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 29 at West Cobb Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 30 at West Cobb Funeral Home.
