Oscar Diaz

Oscar Diaz, 42, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023. Funeral Services will be held from 4-7 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Mass service will be held the following day at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on August 14, 2023, at 10 am. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.

Born October 31, 1980, in Santa Ana, California, the son of a single mother, Lidy Castellanos. Oscar was raised in his birthplace till age 16 when he moved to Marietta, Georgia, where he attended Marietta High School and graduated from Chattahoochee Technical College in Drafting and Design. With all his sacrifice and hard work, “Dimensional Interior Works LLC” was established in 2017. Oscar was an incredible, creative, innovative, and talented custom carpentry designer.

Oscar met his wife, Gabriela Vargas, in Marietta, GA, at 23 when Gabriela was 18 on January 2004, and they started a relationship on February 14, 2004. They both have two beautiful daughters, Camila and Izel. He was an incredibly hardworking father who went above and beyond for his daughters and wife to ensure they had everything he never did. Oscar was also an amazing son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend who was always willing to help anyone that needed him. His charismatic personality lit up anyone’s day and was the light of any party. Oscar’s loves were his family, especially his daughters, Yorkies (not to mention rescuing them), dancing, singing, grilling out, traveling, and the gym, even though he would spend most of the time in the sauna. He will be greatly missed by everyone who got the chance to know him. His beautiful smile, kind heart, and charismatic personality will never be forgotten by his loved ones.

Oscar, even though God took you too soon and didn’t give you a chance to see your daughters graduate from High School or even enough time to see your girls accomplish their dreams of becoming someone successful in life like you always guided them and wanted to, I will make sure that Camila pursues her dream of becoming a dentist and Izel of becoming whatever she sets her mind into. I will guide them with love and dedication just like you did when you were alive and take them to explore different places every year just like we used to, and hopefully, I can accomplish your dream of directing our girls to a successful life just like we planned.

I am angry with God because he left me without you in a blink of an eye, without giving me the chance to say how much I love you and thanking you for the two amazing daughters, home, and life we built together these 19 years. I am heartbroken because you will never meet your grandkids or retire with me as we planned. God took you too soon when you still had much to live for and more to accomplish. I know you are in a better place now, enjoying your mom and free of stress. I will always cherish the beautiful moments together and continue to honor your memory for the rest of my life, you will always be my forever love. Fly high, my love, that even with a broken heart, I will do my best to stay strong and guide our girls in the right path. I will always love you, my Teddy Bear. Rest in Peace, mi Amor!
