On July 23, 1983, Omar Talib Grayson also known as 'Cali' to others, was an only child born to Joycelyn Barnes and Douglas Grayson, who proceeded him in death. Omar was born in Lynwood, Ca. He attended public and private elementary and middle schools in Los Angeles, Ca. He attended Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga. Omar was an athlete as a child and teenager. He participated in multiple sports: football, basketball, soccer, track, martial arts and swimming. He excelled as a member of the Junior Olympic swim team.
Omar had a passion for fashion, especially Louis Vuitton, Jordan, Nike and all expensive brand names. He was known to dress and wear the latest styles of tennis shoes and sports attire. He had a kind spirit and was known to be serious about his business.
Omar was competitive in his endeavors and always had the vision and desires of being on top. His Father taught him to play and perfect the game of chess, one of his favorite pass times. Omar once said, his game was “on point” when he was able to checkmate his Dad with laughter while talking smack. One of Omar’s slogans was, "Life is a game of chess not checkers. Life is a game of strategy orchestrated by GOD”.
On January 8, 2020, Omar’s sun set in Marietta Ga. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his Mother Joycelyn Barnes of Marietta, Ga., his 'Baby Girl only 28 days young, Amarya Joy Lyndaia Grayson', her Mother Amikya Johnson, a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Loved Ones, Neighbors and Friends.
