Olufunmilola Ololade Nwachukwu
May 21, 1979 – April 5, 2015
Funmi was born on May 21, 1979 in Lagos Nigeria to Late Samson Olalekan and Late Florence Subulola Olutayo (nee Ayeni). Being the fifth of seven children, Funmi grew up to be a remarkable God-fearing woman of virtue. She attended Command Children’s School Ikeja, and Nigerian Airport Authority Staff School for her primary education. She then attended Federal Government Girls College Sagamu for her secondary education. Funmi received a Bachelors in Accounting and an MBA from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta Georgia. Having worked for several prestigious firms in the United States, Funmi moved back to Nigeria in the latter part of 2005.
Funmi and Dikko met at the end of 2005 and were married in October 2007. They were blessed with Ethan and Eli born on July 24, 2008 and January 31, 2011 respectively.
In their short time together, Funmi was a dedicated, loving wife and wonderful mother. Her dedication to Dikko, Ethan and Eli was outstanding. There was nothing that she would not do for her “boys” – yes, she always joked about how Dikko was her third child. To the entire family she was a wonderful daughter, caring sister and an incredible friend.
Funmi’s faith was second to none and her steadfastness in the Lord, gave her and those around her great peace. Her daily devotionals “Encourage Daily” touched the lives of so many people around the world, always sharing messages of God’s love and touching lives and extending comfort with the Word of God.
Many have described Funmi as their rock, confidant and faithful and yes, she was those things and more; Funmi was also a God-fearing, kind, generous, cheerful, funny woman and someone that you just wanted on your team! She exuded selflessness and was always willing to reach out to others and help in any way that she could, a true testament to the person that she was.
Though her life was cut short, she lived a truly full and happy life, surrounded by loving family, the most loving husband and wonderful and gorgeous boys.
