Norman "Doodler" Ray Williams, age 77, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away August 29, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta with Billy Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta , Georgia. Doodler was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Jean Williams and second wife Evelyn Williams.
Doodler was a native of Atlanta and had lived in the Cobb County area since 1967. He was of the Baptist faith. Doodler was the President of Milford Park Baseball League in the 70's, a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran of the United States Army. While serving in the Army he was stationed in Germany during the time the Berlin Wall was being built. He also was working in Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001 in a building across from the Pentagon and witnessed the plane flying into the side of the Pentagon. Doodler especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include: son: Thomas Williams; brothers and sisters: Ronald (Susan) Williams, Mildred Phillips, Brenda Ellis, Diane (Perry) Brown and Billy (Sherry) Williams; two granddaughters: Beth (Chris) Kidd and Tia Jiles; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
