Norma Arey Osman, born on September 4, 1939, in Homer, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, in Marietta, Georgia. Her life journey spanned over eight decades, marked by service, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Norma graduated from Coldwater High School in 1958 and then moved to Minneapolis, where she met her beloved husband, Paul M. Osman. In 1961, the couple married and relocated to the Chicagoland area, where Norma briefly pursued a career as an interior designer. Her talent did not go unnoticed; in 1982, she was awarded a trip to Denmark for her exceptional work. After retiring, Norma and Paul settled in Marietta, GA, in 1994.
Throughout her life, Norma was known for her generous spirit and her passion for helping others. She volunteered for numerous organizations, including the Women's Club and Hospice of the North Shore, assisting in the development of a care manual that would support countless families. She continued her Hospice work after moving to Georgia for many years, receiving several awards. She was ordained a minster for the Brigade of Light while in Winnetka, playing a pivotal role in establishing a small church alongside her mother and several friends once in Georgia, which brought joy and support to the community for over 25 years.
In addition to her humanitarian efforts, Norma cultivated many hobbies and interests, drawing from the diverse skills she acquired while growing up on a farm. She was adept in various crafts, ceramics, and sewing, showcasing her creativity and artistic talent.
Norma leaves behind a loving family, including her husband of 63 years, Paul; son Douglas Osman of Newtown Square, PA, and his wife Dawn; daughter Victoria Lippincott of Kennesaw, GA, and her husband John; and four cherished grandchildren: Katherine, Sara, Caroline, and Michael. She is predeceased by her father and mother, L.D. and May Belle Arey, as well as her sister Barbara and brother Norman.
To honor Norma's remarkable life, a visitation will be held on November 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064.
Norma Arey Osman's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her dedication to serving others, her creative spirit, and her loving family will remain a testament to a life well-lived.
