Nancy W Saunders

Nancy Wyatt Saunders, 89, died Monday in her home in Marietta, GA.
With origins in the Martinsville/Henry County, VA area, she was born in Preston on October 15, 1933 to James Lawson and Fannie R. Wyatt. She married John R. Saunders, December 20, 1952.
She graduated from Spencer-Penn Highschool and received undergraduate degrees from Johnson University and Radford University. She received a Master of Arts degree from Mercer University. In 1979, she accepted the pastorate of the First Christian Church of Doniphan, MO. She later pastored Lordstown Christian Church of Lordstown, OH and First Christian Church of Gainesville, GA.
Surviving are her children, Brian E. Saunders, Sarah (Saunders) Allred, and Eric M. Saunders; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Later, a private memorial service will be held graveside in the cemetery of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Martinsville. Memorials may be made to Johnson University (7900 Johnson Dr., Knoxville, TN, 37998, specify the John R. & Nancy W. Saunders Scholarship Fund).
